Our client, a leading provider in Catering for Education sites are currently looking to recruit a Sous Chef for a high volume School near Leatherhead, Surrey.
The school caters for around 900 pupils daily, preparing and cooking dishes from fresh ingredients.
As Sous Chef your duties will include:
– To plan, prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Chef manager.
– To assist in the development and planning of menus, including future food trends, and to be passionate about developing new styles of service and concepts in the location.
– To assist with stock taking when required.
– To carry out the smooth and efficient running of your section as appropriate.
The successful Sous Chef will ideally have:
-previous experience at a similar level working with fresh food
-previous experience cooking at volume
-NVQ level 3 Cookery or equivalent
-Food Hygiene certificate
-Knowledge on specific dietary requirements
-Good leadership skills
-Passionate about good food and cooking
This Sous Chef contract is based on working term time (42 weeks of the year), Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Shifts are approximately 7.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
