Our client a highly popular and award winning independently owned café near Woking, Surrey are currently recruiting for a Chef/ Baker to enhance their current team.
As the Chef/Baker you will join a total kitchen team of 4, and assist in not just the daily baking requirements but in addition assist with the wholesale supply.
The Baker/Cook role will involve:
-Directing the preparation, seasoning and cooking of salads, soups, fish, meats and predominantly cakes as required.
-To plan and price menu items, assist in ordering supplies and keeping records and accounts
-To supervise and participate in cooking and baking and the preparation of foods.
-To keep accurate records in line with the company food safety management system.
-To also assist in running and organising ad hoc events if required.
The client is ideally looking for a candidate with:
-Similar previous experience as a chef/cook and a strength in baking.
-Level 2 Food Hygiene as a minimum.
-Have the ability to work on your own initiative
-Experience of cooking for large groups, and with sufficient knowledge of appropriate temperature and food storage controls.
-Additionally strong organisational skills with the ability to plan ahead, and work accurately to tight deadlines would be an advantage.
-You should promote the home from home experience , go the extra mile, have excellent attention to details, excellent customer service skills.

This Chef/Baker position offers the benefit of daytime work, working 5/7 days with one weekend day off for 3 weeks a month.
