Chef de partie -daytime position
Our client are one of the largest staff associations in the UK representing over 120,000 police officers based in Leatherhead. They are currently looking for a talented chef de partie..
They have a large catering team and state of the art catering facilities. The company have a 55 bed hotel and business facilities catering for up to 80+ daily -their busiest periods on a Monday- Thursday basis.
Straight shifts on a 5/7 day basis
0700-1500 or 12.30pm- 8.30pm ( roughly 1 in 3 weekends )
Flexible to accommodate if a chef can only do a certain shift.
Some pastry experience would be an advantage also in this role
You will work with 7 further chefs in the team.
Duties as follows:
. To be Responsible for the running, ordering, maintenance and cleaning of the kitchen
. To oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
. Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen; and trouble-shooting any problems that may arise.
. To manage and deliver the production needs of the section to the required standards.
. To report all important issues back to senior chefs.
. To communicate effectively within the section and the kitchen environment
. To manage time through effective planning of work, maintaining a high level of productivity.
. To support decisions made and adapt to changes, showing flexibility and enthusiasm
. To be proactive in self-development.
. To participate in the organisation of ordering, cost controlling and wastage of food.
. To give orders within their section, as well as reliably carry out orders handed down to them by the sous chef and head chef.
. To ensure that temperature checks, samples and cleaning schedules are completed.
. Understand COSHH before using any chemicals or cleaning substances.
. To be responsible for the delivery of all foods, ensuring an acceptable standard, distributed to correct storage area and maintaining good stock rotation.
. To ensure the security of stores and other areas of potential loss.
. To deal with customers at all times in a friendly and helpful manner.
1. To work on occasional special functions which may sometimes take place outside normal working hours
2. To receive any training as may be necessary and attend staff meetings where necessary.
Knowledge Skills and Experience
To have a working knowledge of HACCP
